Classically trained (contralto) vocalist from Chicago, IL.
At the age of 19, she modeled briefly with the Ford Modeling Agency appearing in Modern Bride and having done brief runway work. Shortly after, Grace graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Columbia Chicago in College and has been professionally working in Administration for over 12 years while splitting her time with worldwide musical endeavors.
Later than most singers, but more determined then ever, Grace began her vocal studies in 2008. She splits her musical career between Opera and Metal. While under the tutelage of Maestra Janice Pantazelos of the Chicago Studio of Professional Singers. Grace performed in annual Opera Galas and other events. In 2009, Grace joined the Symphonic Metal Band, Shield of Wings, during which she recorded a world distributed studio EP, Solarium. The band toured mostly the Midwest and opened for bands such as EPICA and EdGuy. In 2012, Grace Meridan and Shield of Wings parted ways and Grace’s career began shifting towards opera. In 2012, Grace performed her debut role at the Tuscia Opera Festival as Suor Badessa in Puccini’s: Suor Angelica with the International Lyric Academy in Rome/Viterbo, Italy. In 2013, a lead role of Nina in Pergolesi’s: Lo Frate ‘Nnamorato with Music Theater International in Rome. In 2014, Grace toured with band Apparition as lead vocalist alongside bands Stream of Passion and Sandra with a closing performance at The Dames of Darkness Festival. Grace paired up with an incredible friend and musician and wrote the song "Deceit" for her project A Midnight Grace which was released February 2017..
Being part of Eve’s Apple, a worldwide professional organization of women in Metal designed to support new female fronted bands and offers advice for navigating the music business world. With Eve’s Apple, Grace has performed at Chicago's The Dame Nation Festival four times and three times (2012, 2013, 2014) at one of the largest female fronted festival’s: Metal Female Voices Festival in Belgium.
Grace contributed vocals for symphonic metal project, Vita Nova, for “Taking on the World” (2012), Ad Inferna: Opus 7 - Evelation "Sans Elle" (2014) and also for electronic outfit, Lifteraftergod. (2013). She has also contributed voice-over work with several bands such as Inferno Doll and The Murder of my Sweet.
She has studied with reknown metal and classical vocalist Melissa Ferlaak of the Boston Conservatory and now is working with Chicago based Voice Instruction, Davin Youngs and continues to pursue modeling projects.
